Hi! My name is Miss Stiefbold, and I am thrilled to begin my 9th year in the classroom! I have a B.S. in Elementary Education and Psychology from the College of New Jersey and an M.Ed. in Literacy and Instructional Coaching from Clemson University. I enjoy taking advantage of living by the beach, cooking, and listening to live music. I belong to a family of teachers (8 and counting), and it is safe to say that teaching is not just a career, but a passion. I look forward to getting to know your children and watching them grow as scholars and as people this year!
This year, I hope to foster a love of learning and create an environment where students feel safe, welcomed, and challenged. Envisions 2.0 - Our Math program allows students online access at home! Students can investigate and review daily lessons that are covered in class, watch video clips, and practice. There are also games and activities available to support their understanding of concepts.
XtraMath - This is a website that allows students to practice their basic fact fluency. Great mathematicians need a strong foundation of their basic facts to support them in solving more complex problems.
Prodigy - This is an engaging game that is differentiated towards student's math abilities and skills that are aligned to the NJ State Standards.
READING WEBSITES
Epic- Epic is a great website filled with books of all genres. Students can enjoy fiction books, non-fiction books, audiobooks, read to me books, books organized by levels, and many more! Students can take quizzes to check their comprehension after reading some books. Have your child go to www.getepic.com. Your child can click "log in" on the top right-hand corner. Next, have your child click "students and educators". Your child will then enter our class code " BZS0285" in the student login section. Lastly, have your child press their name and icon. Enjoy reading!
Newsela - This is a website that allows students to read real-life articles that include topics such as science, opinions, biographies, and many more! Students can highlight, take notes, and take quizzes right on the site! To log in, go to www.newsela.com. Click "sign-in" in the top right-hand corner. Click "sign in with Google". Have your child enter their school email address and password. Enjoy reading!
Mystery Science - This website is a great way for students to learn about the science that occurs in today's world! Click on the link below and choose 3rd Grade. Your child can view a variety of interesting videos and lessons.
